It did help the car run much smoother for the time it was running. Then the engine misfired and the air box broke when it backfired; probably because of the octane booster. It was also running very rich. My dad's just gonna take it to a mechanic for the time being.

There's one a state away from me for $2000 firm. Might go check it out sometime when I've got time, but they're so much harder to find compared to 944s

I think you're right on the mark on this one! It is the right one!

I was looking at 944s/924S or Fox Body Stangs, and while I'd love a 5.0 and it'd probably be cheaper, it's a freaking Porsche. Maintenance and money will most likely be hell, but I've been told that you're experienced with this matter of expenses.

Maintenance doesn't completely blow—you just need to stay on top of it. Get one that's been well maintained and you'll have a much better time with it.

that's the challenge. All the cars in my area are high mileage cars. But there is one with a new clutch and tires that needs some interior work. I think it's worth checking out.

Still, if it's relatively unrusty (this will make your life much easier) and only the interior is shot, go for it. Interiors are poop, anyway. I ripped what was left of mine out because racecar.
